What is an Expresskassa®?

Expresskassa® is ViralConvert's self-service checkout for restaurants. Guests order and pay themselves on a touchscreen near the entrance — the kitchen receives the order instantly in the KDS and your cashier skips both the queue and repetitive data entry.

Short explanation

An Expresskassa® is a floor- or counter-mounted touchscreen where the guest builds their order, picks add-ons and pays by card, Swish or voucher. Once submitted, the order is sent straight to the kitchen display (KDS) and a receipt prints automatically. Staff are freed up to cook and host.

Why restaurants choose Expresskassa®

  • Shorter queues at lunch — two or three kiosks typically replace an entire manual checkout lane.
  • 15–25 % higher average ticket thanks to a digital menu with photos, add-ons and recommendations.
  • Fewer input errors. The order is exactly what the guest tapped, in the guest's own language.
  • Your team goes further — one person can handle multiple kiosks plus the counter.
  • Produkterklært kassasystem og SAF-T-eksport er inkludert – Kassasystemlova og Skatteetatens krav oppfylt fra dag én.

Things to consider before installing

Expresskassa® works best when the menu has clear categories and options. If the menu is very long or requires a lot of verbal customisation, pair it with a traditional checkout. Place the kiosk where the guest naturally walks in, and make sure the kitchen has KDS screens sized for peak load.
